There are four types of conjunctions

  • coordinating conjunctions: and, for, nor, but, or, yet, so
  • subordinating conjunctions: although, because, when, once, while, whenever, where, wherever, before, after, as, as if, as long as, as much as, by the time, in case, only, etc.
  • correlative conjunctions: either… or, neither… nor, both… and, not only… but also etc.
  • conjunctive adverbs: therefore, however, in fact, in addition, nonetheless, on the other hand, accordingly, all in all, rather, besides, thus, then, indeed, in summary, etc.

Here you can explore and practice each of these types.
